When I got my haircut on wednesday, Matt (the stylist) asked me whether I had thought about hair color - all over dark brown hair color.

I think he was trying to pose the question delicately about my gray hair. I said I was open to it but didn't really take it seriously.

But the fact that he brought it up has been weighing heavily on my mind.

So, just a few minutes ago, I stood in front of the mirror and combed through my hair in quarter-inch sections from left-ear to right-ear.

OH MY GOD.

There is gray hair EVERYWHERE. It used to be concentrated in a section of my scalp over my right eyebrow. Now it is EVERYWHERE. Visible strands in every quarter-inch section.

How long has this been going on???
